Lagos State unveils App To Transform Resident’s Transport Experience

 

The Lagos State Government, in partnership with MTN Nigeria, has unveiled the MyLagosApp, a digital platform designed to enhance integrated multi-modal transportation in the state.

This was according to a statement signed by the Deputy Director of Public Affairs, Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, Bolanle Ogunlola, on Thursday.

Speaking on behalf of the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, highlighted the app’s significance for Lagosian, saying, “The app was developed to meet the needs of Lagosian by providing connectivity, efficiency, and accessibility.”

Hamzat praised the collaboration between MTN and various ministries, departments, and agencies, emphasizing that its success relies heavily on the participation of Lagosian.

 

The success of the application depends on Lagosian; we urge them to embrace, interact with, and engage its features, he said.

He further noted that the app would serve as an effective medium for citizens to connect with the government.

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, highlighted on the app’s features, stating that the application had been designed to support the state’s multimodal transportation plan by showing users various modes of transportation and how to navigate them.

 

He added that the app would provide real-time data on commuters and traffic conditions, allowing for predictive modeling to improve road infrastructure.

Osiyemi affirmed that the application would help gather feedback, which would aid in the implementation of the Lagos State Transport Policy and contribute to the development of necessary road infrastructure.

The app is expected to significantly improve the transportation experience for Lagosians, transforming how they navigate the state’s transport system.
